There are 20,000 – 25,000 roaming in the vast Arctic Ocean. This marine mammal is the champion ice skater , they can swim a distance of 150 km or more in the sea ice, crossing the largest island GREENLAND.

Arctic is the smallest ocean in the world with few polar bears wandering in the vastness of ice.  Although their heavy weight 800 pounds, polar bear can walk on thin ice without cracking/ breaking the ice, and is the best platform for hunting and fishing for food.  Summer and Autumn are the hardest month, because polar bear have to walk on dry land.  Spring is the mating season, female polar gives birth every 3 years, and pregnancy last for 30 months. 

A healthy Polar bear is very magnificent at night ,  the Northern light gives a beautiful glow to their white fur.  Lately, scientists have discovered starving polar bear  near the Hudson Bay.  Climate change has affected polar bears in many ways, lack of ice platforms, sea rising, flood in many rivers in Canada and Northpole.
