West coast of Pacific North America, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho have been dry in the past months.  On the other hand, Eastern States in the Atlantic Coast has been extremely hot 3 digits temperature , humidity in the tropical region has brought floods  in rivers large delta and the large basin Gulf of Mexico. 

Subtropical California, and desert areas, descending air , and the cold water upwelling in the Pacific Ocean brings cooler temperatures in this region.
