Declining marine species in tropical waters

Rising temperature has affected 2/3 of the Atlantic Gulf Coastal Region.  Every summer is different in the Pacific and Atlantic.  Plastic pollution  has reduced marine communities significantly.  Moreover the El Niño phase and  La Niña phase  change sea surface temperature  which have a huge effect on marine environment and ecosystem.   The tropical Atlantic Gulf is suffering from  many violent storms.  2025, NOAA predicted  13 to 19  named storms.

Declining marine species

Sea turtle 🐢  feeds on algae, sea grass.

Florida keys is the only Coral reef that supports marine communities in the Atlantic Gulf.  The Gulf of Mexico is a huge basin, and is known to suffer coral diseases from plastic pollution.   Manatees, and sea turtle populations is in decline due to climate change and pollution.

Climate change effects on marine communities

Rising temperature has been observed for the past century.  Tropical Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean have been warming up, in particular the Atlantic Gulf Coast , because this basin has not recovered from declining coral reef 🪸. The El Niño cycle has an effect on  coral reef, Algae and sea grass.  There is a scarcity of seagrass and Algae during this period, in the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean.

Earth 🌎 revolution, weather conditions, climate change play a role in the marine ecosystem.  Human activities and pollution have contributed significantly in decreasing marine species.
