
Salmon lives in fresh River water , and salty ocean water. Salmon is the most heroic fish in the ocean, their journey to cross the salty water, traverse under bridges and through dam consume their life. Salmon adapts well in the cool Pacific and Atlantic Ocean. Region that will gravely affect by the La Niña returns, is the North Atlantic. The polar vortex will bring cold air in the North Eastern Atlantic region, and that will affect the groundwater such as rivers that salmon pass through to complete their journey. Pacific Northwest will be impacted by the change of temperature as well.
In the Pacific Northwest, the largest salmon community pass through Columbia River, Baker River in Washington temperate region, Smith River California subtropical region, and this includes Fraser River in Canada. Sockeye salmons are very delicate fish, that demand pure , and clean fresh water. Riverside/riverbank maintenance is very important. Marshes, meadows play an essential part in maintaining a well balanced ecosystem and temperature. Freshwater and ocean water find equilibrium from seagrass, kelps in the North hemisphere.
A diverse communities such Orcas, bald eagles benefits from salmon in the Pacific Northwest. Humans have to make more effort to protect and maintain salmon habitat in the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean. Caviar and sockeye are Thanksgiving favorites.
