Whale and sharks are like birds, they move to warmer waters, tropical and polar region during summer season. Their journey is very long, and some whale and shark are slow swimmers. Most of them take one year to several years to complete their migration journey. That’s why whale are extremely endangered, because it relies on plankton and zooplankton to survive long distances.

All migration occurs in summer months, because longer daylight where phytoplankton, zooplankton, plankton flourishing in the large/ vast southern ocean. A safe haven for whales, in particular, blue whale finds a cool quiet less dense traffic and more food. The most endangered whale is the Right Northern Whale, because of the hustle and bustle in the North Atlantic polar region. The abyssal zone and sea floor gather many zooplankton species that whale can feed in the tropical waters. Southern ocean is a great place for whale to spend the summer.

Note: tide is important and upwelling, sometimes there is Red tide which is a combination of organisms ( plankton species and other organisms) moving upwards and water down welling simultaneously. This occurs frequently in Red Sea.

Does El Niño affects tides or has anything changed? Yes !
