The Arizona Petrified Forest Preserve is one great example of geologic time and history, a change over time caused by flood damage ( climate change). Geologic history takes us back to how environment has changed, coastlines and land surface. Coastlines are the most dynamic, geologic events occur sporadically in ocean. Now, the world is facing geologic changes in vulnerable regions ( tectonic forces, droughts, floods).
Geologic changes in Pacific Ring of Fire, shoreline are changing from many earthquakes & tsunami. Many cities infrastructure in Pacific Rim are destroyed, and needs new sustainable development.
Lakes in the Rift Valley continent are shrinking, because, since 1960, greater than 50 percent of land surface has been cleared/ stripped from natural habitats. Lake Chad depends on rainfall, and a large area has shrunk due to drought conditions. Ice caps are shrinking every year due to climate change. Rift Valleys hold the largest biodiversity, and the longest river Nile.
Islands are losing beaches from sea rising temperatures across the world.
Maldives island in the Indian Ocean is one of the most famous area that has lost 75% of beaches due to climate change. The next big tsunami will change the physical geography of islands in vulnerable areas. Tidal waves and sea rising in different parts of the world such as, Bay of Fundy, in Nova Scotia, San Francisco Bay in California, Deception Pass in Washington
National Geographic, Readers Digest, will publish New edition of Geologic changes in the largest Pacific coastal map, because this area is highly seismic of greater than one thousand quakes annually. Most changes occur in the ocean, there is a lot going on.
